Granite

Granite comes from the Latin word “granum”, as in grain, referencing the often grainy look of this very hard and tough natural stone, which can range in colour from very white, through greys to very black. Granite is formed as liquid rock (magma) is pushed up from under the Earth’s surface over millions and millions of years.
