Onyx is the most colourful and varied of any group of natural stones. They are formed in silica-containing ground water, and depending on cracks and cavities and content of crystals, onyx can offer all colours in the rainbow.

INTERESTING FACT: Even as far back as in Ancient Greece and Italy artists used onyx for relief-designs allowing one colour of the stone to be background for another.
