Limestone is a very versatile rock composed largely of calcium carbonate crystals, containing fragments of marine organisms such as coral. Limestone makes up about 10% of the total volume of all sedimentary rocks in the world.

INTERESTING FACT: The Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, has an outside cover made entirely from limestone.
